Typeface Tuesday!

Why, hello there!

One of my goals for 2016 was to cut back on my extra-curricular activities in order to streamline my time management and make room for the fun things I like to do.

As it turns out, I failed miserably at accomplishing this goal. A side effect of doing so was my having to ignore some aspects of my life, and this blog was one of the first things to go on the list.

Now that there’s a light at the end of the tunnel (thank yoooou!) there are so many things I want to share, so stay tuned and check back for updates.

In the meantime, I thought I’d share with you some of the fonts I’ve recently fallen in love with/downloaded. Enjoy! More »

Typeface Tuesday

It’s been awhile since I’ve provided some font suggestions, so today I bring you my Typeface Tuesday: Summer Edition. Below are some fonts and some dingbats (install and use just like a font, except there are graphics in place of letters) that might help in any final summer creations.

Don’t forget my rule of thumb: Just because something is available as a free font doesn’t mean you should download it! If I’m on the fence about downloading one, I look at the pangrams and if I can’t clearly make out the name of the font as it is written with the font, I skip it. More »

Typeface Tuesday: Scrap Edition

Two posts in one day – how wonderful, indeed!

I recently posted a type guide on the Two Peas message board which identified some of the fonts I’ve been seeing on popular scrapbooking products and sites as of late. I wanted to share it with you here because most of those fonts are pretty wicked awesome!

This one has been all over the Starbucks ads, too. Comes in a variety of weights and a distressed version called Thirsty Rough. Sometimes people confuse it with the free Wisdom Script.

I like Ostrich as a versatile sans; comes in condensed light, medium, black and inline.

This is one of my favorites, because it’s so versatile. If you spring for this one, get the whole family. It comes with various shadows and extra glyphs as well as some nifty symbols.

Typeface Tuesday

I’ve spent a few hours scouring the web for some fantastic new free fonts, and this is what I’ve found for you. I highly encourage you to use other fonts, too, even if you have to pay for them. Typographers spend countless hours and painstaking detail to create some amazing typefaces that we tend to take for granted. Luckily there are a number of sites out there promoting the art of typographic design. Keep that in mind, homies. As always, click the image to go to the font download sites. Cheers.

Here’s a great site listing more free fonts that look nice, if you care to visit.

And last but certainly not least, check out this amazingly talented lady. I just discovered her site today while surfing for fonts, and I have to say— she just might be my new design icon. I’m in love with her style and aesthetic and her site. LOVE it. She has some free adorable fonts for you, too, but you have to seek them out. It’s well worth it. She also has an entire shop of adorableness that I know you will love. Check her out:
